Take care of your mental well-being

Therapy isn’t just for when everything is falling apart (though it’s definitely helpful then, too). It can be a space to:

  • Process grief, trauma, or anxiety
  • Untangle relationship patterns
  • Explore different parts of yourself
  • Figure out why you keep ending up in the same stuck place again and again

People often come to therapy when they’ve hit a breaking point, but you don’t have to wait until it’s *that* bad. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, constantly exhausted, or like you’re just going through the motions, it’s probably time.

Therapy can help you slow things down, reconnect with yourself, and start to feel more in control.

Sometimes it’s about healing, sometimes it’s about growing—and sometimes it’s just about having one hour a week where you don’t have to hold it all together. That matters, too.

Why should you start therapy?

Therapy provides a space that’s just for you. It's where you can examine your experiences, process emotions, and develop healthier ways of coping.

Therapy will help you:

Develop and improve your tools to manage anxiety, depression, burnout, stress, and more.

Make sense of your reactions instead of getting blindsided by them (or just trying to push them down and get on with it).

Improve communication in your relationship—even if “talking about feelings” isn’t your idea of a good time.

Understand patterns you (or you and your partner) keep getting stuck in, and figure out how to shift them.

Heal relationship wounds, even if those people aren’t in the room with you.

Get better at naming and navigating emotions (even if your emotional vocabulary currently consists of “fine” and “tired”).

As a result, you will feel more grounded, more connected, and more like the person you actually want to be.

You don’t need to be in crisis, have everything figured out, or even be totally sold on therapy. Sometimes, the most important step is just showing up—and seeing what happens from there.

Our approach to therapy

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. People are complex, and what works for one person (or couple) might not land for someone else—and that’s okay. We draw on a mix of evidence-based approaches that we tailor to your goals, preferences, and personality.

Below are a few of the main modalities we use. If you’re curious, here’s a quick look at what shapes our work.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

A practical, structured approach that helps you notice unhelpful thoughts and behaviours—and change them. Great for building skills to manage anxiety, depression, and stress in day-to-day life.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Especially powerful for couples, EFT helps partners understand and shift the emotional patterns that keep them stuck. It’s less about blame and more about connection—so you can get back to feeling like a team again.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

A structured, fast-acting approach that helps the brain “recode” distressing memories without needing to talk through all the details. Think: less rehashing, more relief. Often used for trauma, anxiety, and grief.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Based on the idea that we’re made up of different “parts”, IFS helps you understand the inner dynamics that shape how you think, feel, and react. It’s a way of gently untangling what’s going on beneath the surface, healing the parts of you that are stuck in old roles or pain so you can feel more balanced and whole.

Work with trusted therapists in Calgary

Why work with us?

We’re a husband-and-wife team who bring different strengths to the work but share the same core values: authenticity, compassion, and a no-nonsense commitment to real, lasting change.

Between the two of us, we offer a balance of directness and warmth:

  • Enough structure to feel supported
  • Enough flexibility to meet you where you are
  • And enough honesty to gently (or firmly) challenge stuck patterns when needed.

We’ve both been told we have a knack for going deeper—quickly and safely. That’s not by accident. Our approach is intuitive, grounded, and shaped by years of experience helping people uncover what’s really driving their struggles—not just putting a band-aid on symptoms.

Whether you’re walking through something painful, feeling stuck, or just ready to grow, we’re here to help you get to the heart of it.

Ollie window cut

Also, you might meet Ollie, our sassy office dog. He’s a little slow to warm up—an excellent model of healthy boundaries—but he thrives in the calm rhythm of our space and tends to form sweet connections with clients on his own terms. Therapy can be serious, but it doesn’t have to be sterile.
